Permanent residence permit of an EU citizen’s family member
What and who is it for? A Permanent Residence Permit is intended for non-EU citizens (and, under certain conditions, UK nationals). Who qualifies for it? To qualify, you must have lived in the Czech Republic for at least 5 years of continuous temporary residence or 2 years of continuous temporary residence and been a close family member of an EU citizen holding a Permanent Residence Permit or Czech citizen for at least 1 year.
How long is the Permanent Residence Permit valid? The status is granted for an indefinite period, with the only requirement being the periodic renewal of the biometric card (residence permit document) once per 10 years / 5 years for UK citizens under 15 years of age.
