Tax Residency Certificate

What and who is it for? The tax residency certificate confirms, based on the information provided to the tax office, that the tax office considers the individual as Czech tax resident.

 

Why do I need it? This certificate is for all individuals who qualify as Czech tax residents and who need this certificate. Most common reasons for applying for this certificate are request from tax offices in other countries to confirm that the individual does not qualify as tax resident of this country. Very often are the certificates required also by Czech employers when employing the foreign nationals so that the employer is sure that various tax credits apply for the employee and by payers of the dividend or interest income such as banks and multinational corporations to be sure that these payers of the dividend or interest income apply the correct withholding taxes.

How long it takes?  The process usually lasts around 30 days.
